Presidency message

We hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and we want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

President Thomas S Monson said, ‘The Temple provides purpose for our lives. It brings peace to our souls – not the peace provided by man but the peace promised by the Son of God when He said, ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.’  I think there is no place in the world where I feel closer to the Lord than in one of His Holy Temples. To paraphrase a poem:

How far is heaven?

It’s not very far.

In temples of God,

It’s right where we are.’

We, the Relief Society Presidency, would like to encourage each of you to include a visit to the Temple in your busy December schedule.  You and your family will be blessed.

ARVADA COLORADO STAKE

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 

We invite you to attend the Arvada Colorado Stake Conference on November 23^rd & 24^th, 2013.  All sessions will be held in the Arvada Stake Center at 7080 Independence Street in Arvada (near 72^nd Avenue & Kipling Street).

 

The Adult Session will be held on Saturday evening, November 23^rd beginning at 7:00 p.m.  We invite all adult members and investigators age 18 and older to attend.  At the request of the First Presidency, the focus of the meeting will be directed to the hastening of the work of salvation.  We encourage all with children to arrange for childcare to participate in this important session.

 

The Priesthood Leadership Session will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, November 24^th. Those invited to attend are all stake and ward Melchizedek Priesthood Leaders, Ward Mission Leaders, and all bishoprics, adult Aaronic priesthood presidencies/advisors and secretaries.  This includes all stake and ward clerks, assistant clerks, and executive secretaries.

 

The General Session will be held on Sunday morning, November 24^th from 10:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. All members, friends, invited guests and investigators are invited to attend.

 

We invite your help to come early to each session, find your seats and listen reverently to the prelude music before each conference session.

 

We encourage you to prepare for conference by praying for the blessings of understanding, edification and rejoicing (see Doctrine & Covenants 4 and 65).  The promise is yours that you will be inspired with impressions that will give you answers to your heartfelt prayers and guidance in your homes.
